A Los Angeles native, Emily Rubenstein is both a fierce advocate and a calming spirit. 

 
Throughout her career, Emily has worked with an array of clients, from celebrities and social media influencers to low income survivors of domestic violence.

Emily negotiates and litigates family and divorce cases, whether amicable or contentious. She works with appraisers, forensic accountants, and other financial experts to identify, characterize, and protect assets and income. Divorce cases often involve business valuations, real estate transactions, division of retirement funds, and “hidden” assets.

Emily has extensive experience settling and litigating child custody and visitation disputes as well, including use of private custody evaluations, private co-parenting counselors, parenting plan assessments, and professionally supervised visitations. 

Prior to starting the Law Office of Emily E. Rubenstein, Emily practiced family law at a boutique firm in Brentwood. In 2016, she served as Co-President of the LGBT Bar Association of Los Angeles. In 2012, she served as a family law judicial extern for the Honorable Monica F. Wiley of the San Francisco Superior Court.  She appears regularly before the Los Angeles Superior Court and has successfully argued before the California Court of Appeal.

Emily attended the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, where she was an award-winning law student. She graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy from The Ohio State University.

In her spare time, Emily is an avid reader, sports fan, and explorer of California’s beautiful mountains and coast.
